Hi Guys,

I just found a watch that my Grand Father had in his collection (among other nice vintage Omega's / Rolex).
I tried to find it on many forums but I can't get the exact same reference

The case display ref 70517, and on the other side 'GoldPlated20k' (I'm not sure about the letter K)
Does someone ever heard of this watch / series?

Thanks for your help
Charles

Hi,

You have a Carrera Reference 3648S. This is a Carrera 45 minute chronograph powered by the Valjoux 92.

The 20 refers to the amount of Gold plating- 20 microns.

The number you have given is the watch's serial number rather than the model reference number.

Your grandfather had great taste!

Very nice piece, is it missing the outer bezel ring around the dial?

Nice link ! thanks
I like the way it looks now but I love the render of this watch in original condition.
Do you have sites where I can find the bezel ring ?
Thanks

for your information, the movement is a Landeron 189

Are you sure? Landeron 189 has a date wheel and is used in this Carrera

It's a valjoux 92. The chapter ring shouldn't be too difficult to find, but a correct, gold, running seconds hand for the 9 o'clock register....

Hi.
i think the bezel ring is fitted inside the glas for some reason. i am looking for the same bezelring, or a replacement glas which include the bezel.
have you had any luck?

The specialist told me is it a longeron, think he is wrong ?

i strongly think that it's a Valjoux 92 in this watch. Not a Longeron. if its not been changed during the years?
the original movement should be a Valjoux 92.

Great looking watch. With some love and care this will be a really nice vintage piece.
And if you can get some of the original parts and the movement is fine, really a thing to take care of.
Any pictures of the movement.? (i wouldnt recommend open it yourself if you not know what you are doing)

They just sent me a quick footage of the movement, so here is a screenshot.
It looks great.
I am now looking at spare parts (like the main crown)
