far i make searching only on catalogue Heuer 1979 is shown same as mine short handed 844 ,its could be prototype model.
ist hard to get proper info .
almost impossible to find same shorthand 844.

its could be one of first low case no 1075 ,solid as rock,minimal usage marks,keep time round 8 sec per day,monnin cased.

·Dear Mr, i changed as You smart suggested ,any way i put on E Bay listing to see respond of people ,until now lot of people asked me same and to send add pictures to them,shiping option and etc? my opinion is exhibition model from catalogue is closed to real one.

all Heuer range 844 will be in future collectable ,mostly first series 844,keep it well i envoy it fully,every Monnin case is legendary .

When you say the bracelet is too big, do you mean too wide or too long? You have the diver extension open so that would reduce the length if you close it back up.

Many thanks for your input! It's in quite good condition indeed, except the fact that the crown has lost some traction. Still enough traction to adapt date and time, but it's not running smoothly. Anyway, I wanted to keep it as original as possible 😀
It is too big with the diver extension opened indeed! When closing it, it fits better, but never perfectly. It's always a bit too tight/loose, depending on how much links I add/remove..

·That's not unheard of with these divers, they can be temperamental sometimes!
I know what you mean about the bracelets although I've always managed to get around it using the clasp adjustment. If you decide to sell the bracelet on I may be interested. As a period correct alternative you could consider a large hole tropic strap, as shown in some of the photos above. Alternatively the similar Heuer 'deep dive' 980.023 was advertised on an Isofrane strap. Too much choice otherwise!!!

As it is still 100% original, I'd prefer keeping/selling it like that of course.. But never say never 😀
