Hello to All, my barn find prototype Heuer 844 ,EF4611,tropic sport as is from 1979 catalogue. best reg bassem
Hi Bassem, yes I saw this pop up on Ebay earlier. It's a lovely piece! Why is it a prototype please-isn't it just a first execution 844 'Monnin' production model? Many thanks, Steve
Should the minute hand have a pointy end? Couldn't see it on eBay anywhere, either completed listings or current?

Dear Mr, far i make searching only on catalogue Heuer 1979 is shown same as mine short handed 844 ,its could be prototype model. ist hard to get proper info . almost impossible to find same shorthand 844. best reg bassem
Dear Mr Steve, its could be one of first low case no 1075 ,solid as rock, minimal usage marks, keep time round 8 sec per day, monnin cased. from My side honest description. for more 0038761204194 . best reg bassem
That catalogue picture is too small for me to see the hand shape, but it looks like it could have a pointy end even so. You keep using the word "prototype" and it headlines your eBay listing also. It could be you don't fully appreciate the meaning of this word, but I would suggest you refrain from using it in your ebay listing unless you can verify it is indeed a prototype rather than a production model.
Dear Mr, i changed as You smart suggested ,any way i put on E Bay listing to see respond of people ,until now lot of people asked me same and to send add pictures to them, shiping option and etc? my opinion is exhibition model from catalogue is closed to real one. best reg bassem
Hi Bassem, yes I agree it is early and as mentioned, you don't see many of these types. Here is another one I had though- I also agree it isn't a 'prototype' but good luck with the sale! Steve
Hi guys, My very first Heuer. A Monnin diver 844-3. Any feedback regarding the current state and rarity? I think I’ve been able to buy it for a fair price. Many thanks in advance!
Dear Mr, all Heuer range 844 will be in future collectable ,mostly first series 844,keep it well i envoy it fully, every Monnin case is legendary . my Titus Tuning Fork diver new watch. best reg bassem
Beautiful pieces, sir! The strap of the watch is a little to big for my wrist, but I’m looking for a substitute. Stay safe and many thanks, Arno
Thanks be Heath, some Marina Nationale strap will be top on it. link : https://www.cheapestnatostraps.com/
Looks great condition all-round-congratulations! I don't recall seeing that type of hour hand before but with these 844s-anything goes! These 844-3s are probably the most commonly seen after the 844. Scarcity doesn't always equal value though, condition plays a reasonable part with these. When you say the bracelet is too big, do you mean too wide or too long? You have the diver extension open so that would reduce the length if you close it back up. Enjoy it! Steve
Hi Steve, Many thanks for your input! It's in quite good condition indeed, except the fact that the crown has lost some traction. Still enough traction to adapt date and time, but it's not running smoothly. Anyway, I wanted to keep it as original as possible It is too big with the diver extension opened indeed! When closing it, it fits better, but never perfectly. It's always a bit too tight/loose, depending on how much links I add/remove.. Stay safe all, Arno G
That's not unheard of with these divers, they can be temperamental sometimes! I know what you mean about the bracelets although I've always managed to get around it using the clasp adjustment. If you decide to sell the bracelet on I may be interested. As a period correct alternative you could consider a large hole tropic strap, as shown in some of the photos above. Alternatively the similar Heuer 'deep dive' 980.023 was advertised on an Isofrane strap. Too much choice otherwise!!! Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, I'll keep it in mind for sure! As it is still 100% original, I'd prefer keeping/selling it like that of course.. But never say never stay safe, Arno
