I don't believe Heuer ever made contrasting dials with long markers.

Correct. If you ask me, I think the contrasting subdial 2447s aren't as good-looking as the 1st-ex N and S; it's a level of sportiness that I think works better on the Autavias of the time.

Hi guys! I鈥檝e been reading alot on the pedigree of the 1st Gen Carreras in which the new Carrera Silver 160 somehow lept in time and made it fastforward to 2020 馃榾

Can any of our Calibre11 experts tell the similarities and differences of a 1st execution Carrera 2447 versus a 2nd execution Carrera 2447? Having a hard time researching the differences 馃

I appreciate all the responses and inputs! Definitely learning alot about the Carrera 馃憤 Thanks!

The 2nd execution has black strips in the hands, and wider dial markers:

Love the strap!
It鈥檚 from Bulang and Sons. If anyone is interested in getting one, I think it is worth the price.

Anyone else ever wondered why watch companies just wont color the hands on both sides? I know that this is probably not an issue in daily use but in makro video and photos it can sometimes look kinda bad. Funny how Tag chose to use this photo as one of their man promo photos of the 160:th silver Carrera. You can see very well the almost sloppy paint job... paint on sub dial hand also looks not 100% but that can just be the surface of the hand.

I know that on this price point we cant expect perfection. Autavia from 2017, Breitlings and many others all have the same issue with high polished details on the dial reflecting what is not supposed to be seen. In this case kind of ironic though since Tag ships the Carrera with a loupe so you can inspect the flaws really close 馃榿

I would never have noticed that had you not pointed it out. I imagine this is just the way it's been done for years. Also, paint adds weight and depth to the hand. I guess it's just not necessary since you never see it (at least not without a loupe and the light hitting it right).

Interesting. Never noticed and never would've thought to look for such detail. I just did a close up inspection on the Monaco that happens to be on my wrist. Sure enough, no paint on the the underside of the red chrono hand. But at least the paint job is very tidy with no sloppy edges that I could see.

I've definitely noticed with a few of my photos, but given I review prototypes I've never been sure if production watches are the same

Upon further inspection, looks like the red chrono hand of my Monaco is actually painted about 60% underneath - from the short side to about halfway up and then again at the tip. The paint edges are all neat and crisp.

See what you started @Jim Dollares? Now I'm gonna go crazy trying to figure out if the undersides of my watch hands have paint or not. 馃え

Sorry 馃槣 I think you will find that all of them miss paint underneath. I first noticed this a long time ago in Bruce Williams' videos on youtube, he always does great makro video
