As stated on previous posts, word is there's at least another vintage themed Carrera in the pipeline for this year, but is not a classic B/W or W/B panda. The rumor from people who've seen renders of it, is that it has some color. If these rumors pan out, Montreal color fans should be happy.

Yeah; this could be another winner. I suppose if this second one does materialize, we may see it around the holidays.

Sounds similar to the rumors I've heard.

The 160th pays homage and tribute to the Carrera 2447S. While the Carrera Fragment closely resembles 2447N/NT. Both are beautiful Carreras including the JH80 versions. I’ve come to understand that the Carrera has so many iterations throughout its existence. Though initially the classic clean crisp no nonsense design that won our hearts, was the idea sparked by JH, the Carrera has now become the charging passionate flame leading the way for TAG Heuer. It is the TAG (Techniques d Avant Garde) in TAG Heuer. That’s why All our aspirations and hopes for the Carrera are correct. There are no right or wrong answers for the Carrera, from the past or the future. Because it is the Carrera that pushes TAG Heuer to its limits, whether digital (Connected) or haute horlogerie (Tourbillon)

I love the 160th Carrera! I want to have a piece of the original idea by JH. But now i have a deeper appreciation of the Carrera. Which also means an appreciation even with a stark contrast to a Carrera skeleton dial CH01. My 2 cents 😀

An interesting article, 160th vs JH 81. I prefer the silver & blue JH 81 vs. the anthracite featured in the article, but this is a comparison that I have pondered myself.

Love this quote:

No points deducted for preferring the 2020, which has the good grace to not be any of the abominations added to the TAG Heuer Carrera catalogue since Mr. Heuer’s ignominious departure from the family firm.

Not relevant to this thread but from the same web site: https://thetruthaboutwatches.com/2020/02/hodinkee-scam-just-because/.....
...I don't get it. Have you ever read a negative watch review in one of those "esteemed" old school printed watch magazines? The editor would never risk the ad revenue from Swatch/ Rolex/ Richemont/ LVMH. Aren't they "selling watches" too? Why is Hodinkee a scam, but Watch Time (to pick one publication) an honourable bastion of journalism?

Indeed. In fact, the same criticism could be levelled at any specialist 'review' magazine. In years gone by What Hifi, for example, have regularly been accused of pampering to their advertisers.

I agree. With all due respect, one is entitled a certain degree of opinion, viewpoint or perception, BUT does not automatically equate to “thetruthaboutwatches”

it has always been a criticism whenever one reviews and also sells the same product. We just need to take everything with a grain of salt. But i appreciate alot of viewpoints, to get a wider perspective. In this day and age, we all need to be more discerning and hopefully come closer to the “truth.”

Watch geeks writing about watches, what do we expect? The watch brands dollars and other perks are just too hard to pass up I suppose. I like Hodinkee’s reviews, in depth pieces, talking watches etc. It does bother me they like some brands way too much but I can’t tell if there’s any dollars involved with that. The Omega fatuation does get on my nerves quite a bit. Last year Jack Forster wrote about the relaunch of the 321: “This is probably the single most exciting piece of movement-related information I've seen in over 20 years of reading and writing about watches.” He probably should have resigned after that.

I'm sure they're black, but in some photos, the second hand and subdial hands look dark blue, that is to say very nice! Kind of a shame they're not.

Let's not forget that the Carrera and Monaco were discontinued due to poor sales, how I wish they hadn't been so that Mr Jack could have abominated them with black and gold paint in the early 80s - it's only (ironically) good fortune that these models were discontinued and thus protected from the 80s, but that doesn't fit in with the accepted narrative that Mr Jack is the absolute arbiter of good taste does it. 🙄

Guessing it might also be delayed now?
