I see that they're claiming that they sold out in two hours... but I don't think I placed my order until about 3 hours after the Instagram post was up with the link to the sale. And I went back in another couple of hours later and they still showed up as being available.

Anyway, whether it was 2 hours or 8 hours makes no difference- it's a hit.
I checked Monday morning Los Angeles time and was still available. But out of stock by lunch.

Yeah was available for the best part of a day.

Like I said earlier i was relieved in a way when it did sell out because I kept going back and hovering over the buy button!

The site was misleading. I tried to buy one early in the morning (US West coast time) and the secondary page showed it was already sold out.

Later in the day, the primary site was updated to reflect this. That's probably what you saw.

Well that would have saved me much deliberation! Ha
Had I known this was coming, I would have been all over this. 🫨

Makes sense.

Ordering was a little bit of a thrill for me. Spent the morning in Malibu then saw Once Upon A Time in Hollywood (the Bruin Theater in Westwood, CA) at 6:45pm that evening. Which is the same theater that Sharon Tate's character visits in the actual movie. So that was kinda surreal. I mean I live in LA, but I was IN the theater that was IN a scene in the movie I was about to see. I thought that was kinda exciting, but then....

While I was in the popcorn line I began scrolling Instagram. Wei Koh posted about the Sinn, and it felt like it gone live early -- which according to teaser posts that morning would make the release about 8 hours early. I literally went "oh shit" and told my wife to go find seats and that I'd be in the theater in a bit. I wasn't sure if Revolution's sale was live yet, and I've never picked up an LE of any kind before, but I knew I wanted this piece bad and wasn't about to miss out because of Quentin Tarantino.

Long story short, I scored the Dark Star while standing in line for popcorn at the Westwood Bruin. Film was 2.5 hours. If it actually sold out in 2 hours, would've missed my chance.

---

PS, I was so excited that I didn't touch the popcorn. Pretended to need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie to check if I got a confirmation email too. Victory.

That's a great story. Congrats again on the watch!
And this watch (well, the original) could have been period correct, had it been chosen over the Citizen that Brad Pitt is wearing on a bund strap.

Thanks! Totally kept staring at Pitt's watch on screen and thought "whaaaat is that?"

Love the story and in particular the quote above. made me smile.
It seems that this watch has been a pretty big hit for a lot of us on the Forum.
Missed chance by Tag Heuer I would say.

@Hubert, I am sure you will find a way to get this into your watch collection one way or another.. ..😁

Ridiculous. I had the same thing happen with the Siffert- a guy listed one on eBay Germany 2 weeks before the watch was sent to the buyers. Unfortunately for him, there was only one buyer from Germany, so I canceled the sale.

Classic 😀
Were there sale terms prohibiting flipping the watch before delivery?

The other items for sale by that eBay seller are interesting. Glass bead bracelets and Avon figurines.

Not specifically. But a broad term that the sale could be cancelled for any reason.

Despite there only being one German buyer, this guy's eBay handle had the same initials as the Siffert buyer's name...but he still denied that the sale had anything to do with him.

Damn right. Good work dc. I'll say no more other than it's a significant bug-bear of mine. (I have already deleted the remainder of my post to save you hearing my further rant.)
