Eh, I'm all in on the Dirt Rally series at this point. After Dirt Rally 2.0, nothing really compares

Finally, the Gulf Porsche 917! Yay! But the game itself doesn't look all that different from GT Sport.
Here's a pic of some of the liveries I made for GT Sport, I love that game! :)

My setup is a bit old now - Logitech G27. Used to compete on Live For Speed (LFS). Now only the occasional game of Assetto Corsa or F1 GP on PC, but my reaction times aren't what they once were :(

Yes. It's just me. Certain games, in first person perspective, if too choppy or jarring will give me piercing headaches. I have no problem with Gran Turismo or Forza, but Dirt Rally will give me a headache within 15 minutes of playing.

Yeah, I imagine all the bumping and jostling of a rally car might do that. Wondered if you've played using "chase cam" though, from the outside of the vehicle? I know some don't like it but could help, especially as you've already purchased the game.

Outside behind the car is better but I still end up with a headache sooner or later, and I much prefer the in car driving experience. Sadly, I've just given up playing Dirt Rally 2.0.

That's really too bad, it's by far the best car-racing game I've played from a physics standpoint and has really taught me a ton about suspension setup theory (well, Dirts Rally 1 and 2.0 have),

Maybe have a beer or two before playing? :D

What was your verdict on the Virtual24?

It was interesting I thought. 'Something is better than nothing' to watch some racing but even with managing expectations for virtual graphics we enjoyed it. It was far more detailed than I expected and the only time I was really disappointed with the CGI was for post accident/collision results. The commentators and information were good and kept the interest going. Everyone seemed to have a good time and there was definitely some intense work being put forth even if without the physical and term stressors.

    Still looking forward to September...

I own no such hardware these days but, back in the day, I had the Microsoft Sidewinder steering wheel and pedals (and the Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick) and used to play some of the early Need for Speed games including Porsche 2000, Interstate '76 and Interstate '82.
