Google contacts sync issue

So i am opening a separate thread on this. After hours of reading, i have accepted the fact that iPhone native contacts cannot sync with the watch. I did have a google account already that i never used much but decided to import my iPhone contacts into google contacts to have them on the watch. Before going through the hassle, i added one contact to google but it still doesn't show up on my watch "No contacts could be found". What am i doing wrong here?

In the android wear app, i added the google account and i am getting gmail notifications on the watch but not the contact i added to google contacts. My calendar setting in the app is on Apple calendar events though is this holds my personal and professional appointments.

Any thoughts?

Sorted, contacts showing on watch.
App I used is called contactstransfer, Just search App Store ‘contacts sync’ it’s the 3rd app on the list.

Open app, it asks you the normal stuff, then sync, you call see if it is, by all your contacts on the screen....when done, I re started watch and iPhone , when into contacts on watch, all contacts

Still no luck. I have imported my entire outlook contacts list (which is synced with my iphone) into google contacts on my laptop. I would assume that the android wear app would pick up the contacts directly from my google account, not going through any app on my iphone. Nevertheless, i did install the gmail app and the google app on my iphone just to make sure. No change of status - still not contacts on my watch. The only thing i can think of right now is that i have android wear configured to use apple calendar cards. Not sure if that really plays a role though. Also looked into app permissions on the watch. I did found it interesting that google under the system apps didn't have contact or phone permissions.
