Formula 1 Calibre 5 moment grade

I've been trying to find out what grade moments these have. I think I read somewhere that the Calibre 5 on the Aquaracer is an Elabore but I don't know if TH uses the same ones on all their Cal 5 watches or if there are variants.

Also, thoughts and opinions on this watch as an everyday beater option. Thanks.

There's a thread on here about the calibre 5 in the current aquaracer, it's the cheapest grade movement. I would assume the f1 is the same.

Probably be fine for a beater, although quartz would be tougher and more accurate.

Thanks, I'll try to find the thread. So all Calibre 5 movements are the same throughout the model range?

It's a really nice watch, I did not realize it was their lowest end automatic model. I was kind of disappointed to learn it did not have the same push button clasp as on the other models.

Agreed, I think the new F1 series looks very smart.

I was originally just looking into this to compare with the Aquaracer but it's really growing on me. Not just the Calibre 5 but the 6 and the GMT as well as the one with the ceramic bezel which is also a calibre 5.

Some additional questions I haven't been able to find online, does this model have the same quick change date feature on the Aquaracer which has the same movement, and does this watch have any AR coating at all? I'm a little surprised at how little information there seems to be on this watch.

I am certain it will have quick change date, can't comment on AR. I like the gmt, but it's an ally bezel which would get destroyed very quickly.

My advice with watches is go try them on and buy the one that looks best on the wrist and feels right.

I couldn't decide on which size for the Aquaracer fit me best but when I tried the F1 it just felt really good. Good enough that I am now seriously considering this over the diver watch. The only thing is that I need to decide on black or white dial. In the images I've found online, the black one looks really sharp but I was a little underwhelmed with it at the store. Maybe it was the lighting. The white looked great, the hands, especially the seconds marker stood out more compared to the black dial.

Spec wise, I'm not that impressed. I know this is their low end automatic but the cheap clasp on the bracelet is a letdown and no AR just seems like they're being lazy or cheap with the production. I guess for the price range it's acceptable but I have to rule out the ceramic version and the GMT which both cost more.

I can't believe there are no reviews of this watch at all.

I purchased the anthracite face last week and love it!!!

Oh man... I think you've just convinced me to put this one back on my list.

It really is a handsome watch.

Thanks guys. Right here, right now this is the right watch for me. I love the overall Formula 1 design and feel, I'm quite satisfied with the watch's specifications, including the SW-200. And although I bought it new at an AD, I was able to negotiate a price that I'm comfortable with. Simply put, this watch just works!!!

Thanks for sharing. How do you like the Anthracite - aka grey dial for general use? Do you feel it's as versatile as a white or black dial?

I went to have a look in person but they didn't have it at our local shop. I might to hit the AD later this week to see it. They had the calibre 6 with small seconds hand, which has been updated recently. I wonder if I should wait a few months to see if TH will release new colors for the Calibre 5 later this year.

Initially, I was concerned that the bright hands and hour markers would not contrast very good against the dial. But so far, the color combination has work great for me. I have been able to quickly ascertain the time all light conditions.

Anyone know the specs of the calibre 5? Is there any place where it says that it should run within +-X seconds per day?
