·It has been 'outed' on FB as a Carrera...although a bit of time-travelling was involved ;-) -
'Jeff Stein.....There were no Carreras with contrasting dials / registers in the period 1963 (when the Carrera was introduced) to 1966. We first see the Reference 7753 SN circa 1970, as shown here -- http://www.onthedash.com/chronograph/carrera-7753-sn/ Property masters / costume personnel are usually a bit more careful!!

I still think it’s larger than 36mm. Looks 39mm to me.

·Saw the movie over the weekend, great movie. Any car guy should love it. (My wife liked it too but mainly because of Matt Damon.) As a fan of Shelby and the Ford GT40, I already knew the historical details behind the movie very well. So in sense I knew the "spoilers", but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Anyway, thanks to this post, I kept a keen eye on the wrists of Damon and Bale. I agree with Hubert that it does look like Christian Bale's Ken Miles character is wearing a watch resembling an Autavia ref 2446. Also agree that the alleged Carrera on Damon's wrist does appear to be larger than 36mm, which makes me wonder if it was perhaps a prop watch, made to look like a Carrera.
I also wonder if Heuer watches were used, why TAG Heuer hasn't been involved in any of the movie's promotion, like they were in "Rush". Although in Rush's case, "Heuer" is clearly visible on Lauda's Ferrari and a famous historical fact. Whereas the watches worn by Shelby and Miles are not as well known.

I haven't seen the movie yet but it doesn't look as small as the vintage Carrera in all these pics. Internet pegs Matt Damon at 5' 10" but it looks well proportioned on his wrist.
But....lugs look longer than the current 39mm fare. So I dunno. Could be an optical illusion and indeed a vintage model.
Fingers crossed this is a forerunner for a heritage addition in 2020.

·Just watched the movie, “Ford v Ferrari” 😉
My wife, who is my movie & racing buddy, loved it! 🥰
Reminds me of the movie “Rush” which has the elements of, racing competition, old school motorsports and some sort of bromance between the two main characters haha 😝 but the fact that Heuer chronograph watches (Carrera & Autavia) were clearly seen in the movie, NAILED IT for me! W😀W! One of my all time racing movie greats including Rush!
Must watch movie for all car and racing enthusiasts, More so for Heuer & TAG Heuer nuts like us

·The thing is I am relatively small-wristed and Matt Damon is not. However his 35-36mm Carrera looks at least as big on his wrist as my 39mm Carrera looks on mine 😕
I'll do a comparison photo with a friend's 36mm Carrera next time I have a chance.
