A couple of great articles here from our friend Jonathan Scatchard at Vintage Heuer about what it was like collecting Heuer way back (sorry JS 馃槈 ) in 2000.

Firstly, a copy of the press release from Sothebys announcing the sale of "60 classic Heuer watches". And to break your heart? "the majority are in the $600 bracket"

The second article comes from FHM Magazine (remember them?). A man ahead of his time!

Back then I was still Swatch driven and my girlfriend upgraded me to a chrono DKNY.
There was no Calibre11.com back then...

Amazing how much things change in just a few years!

Gutted even not being able to buy more Heuer鈥檚 even a few years back before prices jumped rather than creeped up.

Even the unloved models are getting relatively expensive now.

A Monaco, a Bund, a 1st execution Autavia, a 5100 Audi Sport and the Champion branded 1614 would have done me to complete the collection.

Thanks David, it is almost moving to read this now.
Indeed it reads like a thousand years back price-wise. Ah those were the days...
