    As from 5th November 2018.

    Damn, DAMN, DAMN :( :( :(

I only got round to reading the latest Motor Sport magazine today and saw this sad news. Had I seen it earlier I would have rushed there for a last visit, it is sorry was such a wonderful place.

I hadn't heard that. What is happening to the collection?

Going private according to Doug Nye's article (sorry, subscription required). But there is a hint dropped that it might re-appear elsewhere.

In other news Bernie's fine private collection at Biggin Hill is still growing. </speculation>

    Which reminds me:

I met Doug Nye at Donington in early 1974 and not only did he sign the copy of his book Lotus 1961-1971 he asked for my home address and sent me a closely spaced two page letter with corrections. Ronnie Peterson also signed it for me -- although he had just signed for March again.

I went there a long time ago, early 2000s maybe, and it was pretty amazing. But I heard that when Donington tried to get the GP and it all ended up in a mess... some people pulled their cars out of the collection because they feared it might go bankrupt. Glad I got to see it at it's best, shame it's closed though.
