CY2111- 2003 Autavia re-edition

I am trying to gather as much information for the CY2111. I recently picked up one on ebay (black/orange version) and I am really impressed with it. The dial is amazing and the bracelet is really comfortable, without being so shinny as the current re-edition (2017).

Is it possible to find production data for these watches? Like for how long they were produced and how many were made?

Not sure how many were made, but they were launched in 2003 and then pretty much gone by 2005. I did speak to one of the senior TAG Heuer managers who worked on the project, and he felt that they simply had too many heritage watches around this time (Monza, Monaco, Carrera, Autavia, Targa Florio) and that when the Auatvia didn't immediately sell well it was an easy decision not to push ahead.

I asked whether they ever considered other colours, or maybe a GMT, but it sounds like it never got out of first gear.
