Considering sending in for factory maintenance. Good idea?

I have what I think is a model1500. A watchmaker friend made it for me from spare parts. It has run great for 20+ years with only the occasional battery replacement.

Thinking of sending it off for maintenance:
- Needs the hands and indices re-lumed.
- Bezel at zero needs the triangle indicator black enamel replaced and the illuminated dot restored.

I am puzzled by the dial face in that it has an arabic “12” and 30, 45, and 60 minute numbers printed just inside the bezel. Is this a model 1500 with a 2000 dial face?

Is it a good idea to send it to Tag or should I find a local watchmaker? My friend who assembled it has retired. Thanks!

Hi, this is indeed a 2000 face in a 1500 watch.... so sending it back to TAG isn't going to work.

What would they do, return it without estimate?

They certainly wouldn't service it, so I'm guessing yes.

Well... actually... they might. If it has the original movement then they might quote for a new dial if they have spare dials?
