Considering purchasing a 2000 quartz chronograph

Hello fellow TAG Heuer enthusiasts! I'm considering purchasing a 2000 quartz chronograph (e.g. CK 1110, CK 1112) to match my 3-hand 2000. I'm feeling paranoid about potential hyper-fakes. We are well aware of fake F1s and Aquaracers for sure! I would only buy a F1 or Aquaracer from an AD or certified pre-owned. Price range I'm considering is $700 - $1100 Cdn for a 2000 quartz chronograph in good condition.

My question is....are any of you familiar with, or heard of, hyper-fake 2000's from the mid to late 90s? All of the fake 2000s I've seen are very obvious. I'm very familiar with the model numbers, functions, and overall look of the 2000 series. I also understand that movement in a 2000 quartz chronograph from the mid to late 90s era should be an ETA 251.262. Is there anything else I should be aware of? I know - buy the seller. Always the first rule!

I could post some posts from Chrono24 or E-bay, but I'll resist that for now.

I hope everyone here is doing well! All the best!

Edit: I found this post to be both enlightening and frightening!

Well, after much consideration and research I finally purchased a TAG Heuer 2000 chronograph! I ended up with a CK1112 and it arrived today. The watch is in near-mint condition! Everything checks out, including the bracelet (BA0328) and endlinks (3058). I made an educated guess on the bracelet and it fits perfect!

As I've stated previously, I haven't seen any hyper-fakes of the 2000 series. However, I will take it to my local TAG Heuer Service Centre for a new battery and water test. The bottom endlink may need a bit of adjusting, but it's not too bad.

Overall, it looks fantastic and all of the functions work. I like the chronograph reset as the hands reset to zero. In this particular shot, I ran the chronograph for exactly 3 min, 40.3 sec.

Thanks so much! Yes, the panda dial on these chronographs is what really drew me to them.

Looks killer bro!!
Thank-you sir! Since the subdials are silver, could that qualify this watch for the silver dials thread? 😂

These 90's Watches are gaining in popularity. Love seeing them on the wrist.

I will join this club soon. I am a bit afraid of the selection committee. Apparently it consists of one person who prefers to adore his silver watch in the water. Rather obscure? Can I keep my swimming trunks on?😅
