After his two first Monaco 24 (CAL5110 and CAL5111), Gavril Tardi has also launched today the CAL5113... and I guess he is also preparing the last one: CAL5112

This is my slightly customized version of this new face by Gavril

What is the best version of the Calibre 16 Day Date watch face for the new Connected 2020 ?

I looked through this thread and found four different versions. Is there any particular one that will work best with the new watch ?

Are there any glitches I should be aware of ( my watch should arrive on Wednesday ) ?

I've got the 2020 watch and haven't found a calibre 16 yet that performs well. They work fine on the gen 1 and gen 2 just not the gen 3 2020. The menus are all stuttery or are at least for the watch faces i tried.

I managed to optimise the monaco gp 1887 one a bit by hiding layers around the 12 and 6 sub dial but that reduces the look and feel too much

I did however try the calibre 1 posted today and that performs as expected. Its just the ones with many graphics making the layers up. Or at least that is all I've been able to discover.

Other peoples mileage does vary so u may be one of the lucky ones.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I will have to wait until a decent Calibre 16 face is available for the new watch.

Such a shame the watch faces from the last generation are not available on the new model, I really preferred the previous choices over what is available now.

I'll keep an eye on this thread. I did find six watch faces in this thread I really like but they also have detailed graphics and will probably experience the same issues as the Calibre.

Its worth trying them. People's mileage does vary. I've just been someone who it hasn't worked for but others have reported its OK. I'm still trying to work it out but may need to wait for later versions of watch maker to come out.

There are amazing faces on here. People really go above and beyond to create these. We are so lucky to have this community.

Give them a go and let us know the outcome.

Ça fait plusieurs messages que je vois sur ce forum a propos de la nouvelle TAG HEUER 2020 si j'ai un conseil à vous donner c est d écrire au concepteur Alex CURRAN personne qui répond aux messages via email ou communauté sur le réseau MEWE je pense que si la montre n est pas présente sur WM c est qu il y a des problèmes de compatibilités.

I've been trying to find the layers that seem to be the biggest impact to the gen 3 2020 performance specifically with this watch face which i really like. I have found that if I hide the 12 and 6 sub dials specifically layers 25 to 38 the performance is significantly better. Hiding these layers also shows that the dials are part of the background which made me wonder if its just the amount of layers that causes the performance issues. With this in mind I wondered if it were possible to make the sub dials part of the background image? Is this possible?

Also one other level of detail I noticed is that the original watch seems to have silver borders to the sub dials where as this version has black.

@connected1976 was faster than me 😁, and he made his version based on a Jaume Marti face, and this is my version of the new 2020 TH Formula 1 CAZ101AC, based on a Gavril Tardi face 😀

The carbon fiber background is an independent layer, so you can make it darker or brighter in accordance to your taste, just changing the colour. I made it slightly brighter in dimmed mode, to keep the carbon fiber effect also when dimmed. It looks great in dimmed mode!

My iPhone doesn’t show the proper text font, but it looks OK on the watch:

Gran Prix Monaco - this version still doesn't perform well enough to use it for me :-(
New Formula 1 - this performs ok, not 100% smooth but is usable - looks great!
Calibre 16 - this version performs really really well, like an original face 😀 My only feedback is at first glance the sub dials seem distorted? Not sure if this is caused by the shading?

Yes, I confirm you my Gen2 Modular 45 perfectly works with my version of this new Formula 1. Same scrolling speed like with an original face.

You should cross your fingers and hope that a future WatchMaker app update will fix the issue some Gen3 are having when WatchMaker faces are minimally demanding 👍
