If there is one thing we can count on is that it will be crazy expensive when compared to e.g. Oris and Tudor 😎

Really? Surely that's the market they should aiming for? One that Oris are looking to move into. Tag have arguable the better history and name (say for Tudor). Many people often treat Tag as the gateway into Swiss luxury watches. Would be a shame if the price themselves with Omega and almost out of that range.

Especially for a time only (date) diver.

Well the ETA three hander Autavias cost more than the black bay so I guess an in house Aquaracer would be between 4500-5500 Euro

Of course because TAG Heuer is supreme Swiss qualitee.

I bet Tudor wouldn't put a ticking Cal 5 on their website.:whipped:

I fear the new Aquaracer will be £500 more expensive than the old one and then they'll feel 'obliged' to lift the quartz models up to compensate!

Ara Ara
Bring back the Monnin!

Frankly I'm a bit surprised they haven't done anything with even a small bit of the Monnin's design cues already.

And don't get rid of the 12 sided bezel either!

I've always been of the opinion that it apes the Royal Oak a bit too much.

Huh? Here in the US the Cal 5 Aquaracer is $2,350 - $2,750 (not sure why the price difference as they're all steel)

While the Black Bay is a cool $1000 more (bracelet v bracelet version)

The new titanium AR costs more but then, it's full titanium on a titanium bracelet.

(Also, the Calibre 5 is a Sellita SW200, not an ETA anymore.)

Well, Tudor did use ETA 2892s for the Black Bay line initially! But never Sellitas.

Umm, what I really meant was that they've animated it as if it is a quartz watch.

Or they did.... now it's got a stationary second hand - perhaps someone noticed?

Oh I see what you mean. Hadn't noticed that!

Feel free to share the zoom details next time 😜
If I’m not mistaken, these events are on personal invitation only (This is at least how one initiated by the TH Boutique in Geneva, which also involved Mrs. Eberlé, was handled)...

Not sure that there's a lot wrong with the current AR line-up, including the number of pieces sold (I never had the opportunity to compare AR 41, 43, and e.g. a BB41 in the flesh, though).

So my guess is that they will try to take it upmarket since currently it is too “cheap” (i.e., can be found well below 2000 EUR on the grey market) compared to the competition of the other Swiss heavyweights.

Whether this will involve an in-house 3-hand caliber is up for discussion, but I doubt it (since the 3-hand Autavias would have probably been the more logical choice to introduce it)...

Huh? Yes but I compared it with the Autavia since that is a more recent release and better hints to the price level TAG is aiming for these days.

Not true, its a mix. Look at Bruce Williams' youtube review of the emereld green Aquaracer. He opens it up and shows the higher grade ETA 2824

The black bay is much better finished than the aquaracer, it's worth $1000 more.
