Printing the full watch & strap reference on the caseback aside, looks like that reference number has been re-used along with the exact same 1996/2000 limited edition number for quite some time.

How can you tell

One thing that is obvious is that the pushers are wrong, they should be angled not straight - but that's just one thing...

Another massive clue is that it's not a chronograph - the subdials show the date. The watch is clearly a long way off from Swiss quality.
