I'm confused. How is this any more or any less 'Senna' than any of the other 'Senna' watches we've had in the past? It has the Senna 'S' on it, 'Senna' text on the bezel and yellow... it's probably slightly more 'Senna' than the WAZ1018 I'm wearing today.

As in a watch actually worn by Senna or a new watch that draws on that. This one doesn't tick either of these boxes. Just putting a name on a bezel doesn't mean much.

Oh I see. Yes... well unfortuantely some bright spark decided to turn the SEL into the Link and then made the Link a dress watch. But if we're going down that route I'm sure we could think of many other 'fraudulent' watches.

Senna didn't wear a Carrera either, for example. Did Fangio or Ali ever wear Carreras?

Wouldn't call it fraudulent. Just doesn't mean much. I have no issue that Senna's photos are being used to sell a watch, whichever model, as long as it makes sense historically (in Senna's case it does) and the family agrees. But slapping the name of one of the greatest of all time on a cheapy quartz F1 is nonsense.

I disagree there. If the aim is to sell to Senna fans first and foremost then giving them the option of a 'cheaper' (not cheap) quartz piece makes sense. Senna fans are not necessarily watch snobs after all. Besides, the second post shows a new Calibre 16 chronograph. And what could be better for Senna than an F1?

Chisholm Hunter are crooks in my experience. Chased after my deposit for ages after they couldn’t get the watch they promised me

But occasionally, Senna actually wore the cheapy quartz F1. LOL 🙄

If they had made the PVD F1 Senna in Black & Gold (instead of Yellow) and added "JPS" or "Lotus" somewhere on it, it would have been a definite hit for me. 😀

Or Black & Gold with an oversized gold "12" in the same font as his Lotus car.

I have one of those 1st gen F1s, they’re great. The new F1s only share the name.

A great match between state of the art racecars, the legend Senna and an entry level sports watch which TH chose to name F1.

Do these black watches scratch easily? I like the look of them but if they scratch easy and show silver underneath I’d be gutted and it would annoy me thinking it looked tatty.

I don't really know. I assume they do, so I am always very careful with mine. No scratches yet. I agree, I would be raging mad... and I don't think there's much you can do either

That’s me out of the race then, I rarely consider what’s on my wrist when a job calls, knackered one non water resistant watch by immersing it in water for a while, call me careless, cracked a couple of crystals too over the years.

I believe this new Senna is the most expensive quartz F1 to date. At $2300 USD, it's just too much for a quartz watch IMHO.
