Thank you Aquagarph.
It's leading me to my next question. according to this history article, production was until 2018, My warranty card shows 2021.... Does it make any sense or I got fxxxxed

Warranty starts at point of sale, and not all watches are sold as new while still in active production.

I'm curious where you got it, how much you paid and whether that video is one you took of the watch you actually have.

Did you buy it new?

Grand Carreras were never very popular and gold is hard to sell, so wouldn’t be unheard of for a watch to sit around for 3 years before it was sold. Particularly if it was sold at an outlet.

Yes, This video is the actual watch.
I got it from a 2nd hand dealer.
I've paid around $8K for it

I know people don't like to spend this kind of money for Tags,
I just thought its special time piece which I'm fine with as long as it's real... 😀

I very much doubt it will be fake. Fake GCs are usually bad and easy to spot. Plus being gold, the watch would probably be worth more melted down.

It actually says that the last catalogue it appeared in was the 2015-2016, but they hung around the outlets for several years. The Grand Carrera was not overly popular, but it's a great watch in my opinion.

Personally, I think it's great combination of luxury and classic piece. I don't have to much knowledge of Tags. I do have a lot of other brands in my collection but not that many Tags. I like there looks and they are mostly priced better then similar brands, but for some reason a lot of people I know keep telling me to stay away.

Haters gonna hate. TAG has a difficult place in the watch world... an 'entry level' brand is always going to be seen as something to be looked down on by people who 'know better'. The GC is not everyone's cup of tea, but I absolutely love both mine. Especially the chronograph (similar to yours but steel - black dial) and you can tell they are well made when you hold them. Also if anyone tells you the screws on the dial are fake they are talking shit. It's an old wive's tale that originated from a video somebody made on YouTube - but the watch was a fake.

So far I have three Tags, I got them BC I liked the way they were different then others.
I think part of the problem that Tags have "competing" with in the high-end watch market, its BC they are making a wide selection of affordable line of watches. That actually could be looked as they are not being snobs as other brands...

It's fine - the movement, caseback, and markings are all correct for that reference. It's solid 18K gold, and it's a good price.

Exactly. They have a problem now because they are trying to sell £10,000 Monacos and at the same time £1300 quartz F1s. They should forget about the £10,000 Monacos if you ask me.

I honestly don't think dropping the quartz would help them sell the Monacos at that price. The Monaco is an 'icon' of sorts, but it's not a Daytona or a Speedmaster.

If you like gold watches, and are looking for something unique, then keep an eye out for the Carrera Mikrograph CAR5041:

The movement has two barrels and two escapements - the standard timekeeping one is automatic only and beats at 28,800 bph (4Hz), while the chronograph is manual wind only and beats at 360,000 bph (50Hz). At ten times the frequency of movements like the El Primero (36,000 bph, 5Hz), it has COSC precision of 1/100th of a second. In fact, the chronograph central second hand spins once every second - it's truly something to behold.

It is axactly what i'm saying, It's hard to sell watches over $10K when you are known to sell watches at $1.5K...
