Has anyone else seen a Sellita SW-500 movement in a Calibre 16 Carrera?

Mine came with a solid case back. I was questioning the authenticity but some of the guys at watchuseek helped me get to the bottom of it.

There should be many more around as the situation with ETA/ Swatch its delivery to other watchmakers than their own brands is ending quickly or has already ended. That said, the Sellita should be equal to the ETA in quality according to TAG Heuer, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks for your reply. From what I've read I have no concerns about the movement. I just want to make sure that it's authentic. I haven't seen any other Carrera pics with the SW-500 movement.

It's not a Carrera picture but here is some info from the Calibre11 site about your movement used in the Calibre 16 watches:

http://www.calibre11.com/history-eta-7750-tag-heuer-calibre-16/3/

"Faced with growing demand, but shrinking supply of the ETA 7750, TAG Heuer (like many in the Swiss watch industry) turned to another Swiss company that had been quietly assembling the ETA 7750 for years as a sub-contractor to ETA- Sellita.

Sellita SW500- 2012

As the patent protection rights elapsed for some of ETA’s older movements, Sellita has acted to fill the gap in the market by producing what are essentially clone versions of ETA movements. Launched in 2012, the Sellita SW500 is essentially the ETA 7750 made by Sellita….who used to help make the 7750 for ETA anyway!

Today, TAG Heuer offer the Calibre 16 in several models- sometimes that means the ETA 7750, sometimes it means that your watch will have the Sellita SW500."

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info.

I sent in a few pictures of my Carrera with the case back removed to TH Switzerland. They confirmed that I have a SW-500 movement in it. I should add that the rotor in the newest SW-500's do not have any Geneva striping and are quite plain looking.
