Nope, my son is 4 years old and this far he only uses his ipad for games
You've got all this to come then. Actually I have girls, and I think the boys are far more in to things like Fortnite. Or maybe there'll be something else by then.

You say a preference for newer watches over vintage, but even the newer ones are all vintage-inspired/themed.

Very true

You should provide this info to TAG Heuer. I'm sure they have their own marketing data, but the counts you've collected from your photos are indisputable facts reflecting what style of watches Instagram users want. Most likely they are also the demographic that TAG Heuer wants to sell to.

Not sure if you could state it as a fact that this proves what instagram users want. Yes it does show what a number of what enthusiasts interested in calibre11.com likes but how can you be sure that in a larger context this represents the demographic Tag should aim all their efforts towards

Just quickly looking at Tags official instagram account the 160 years vintage carrera has around 30-35 k likes while the just released red index F1 has 50-55 k likes...

Stands to reason the F1 being the top seller as it's the most attainable...

Calibre 11 has 33K followers at this moment. The demographics are probably:

1. Instagram users --> Young, tech-savvy
2. Follow Calibre 11 --> Really into TAG Heuer watches, vintage and new. Probably watch enthusiasts.

Of course, that is a guess on my part. I am not a professional marketer.

Further, I'm not saying TAG Heuer should focus all their efforts on such a demographic. But during the Biver era, TAG Heuer was clearly marketing toward the intersection of those two sets, producing the 45mm open-dial watches. What I gather from Calibre11's thread post is that these same folks are likely also interested in the vintage-inspired models.

1. Silverstone (Re-Edition or Vintage ?)
2. Carrera Telemeter Calibre 18 🥰
3. Carrera (JH80 or JH81?)
4. Carrera 2447S (almost same as the 160?)
5. Carrera 18k Gold Carat

I don’t have IG but these are my Heuer / TAG Heuer Goals 👍

It is an interesting mix. There are many, many people who "love" the Monaco- but when it comes time to buy a watch, they tend to choose something more conservative. So, lots of Instagram likes, but not so many sales.

I like Instagram as part of the mix. If you want to see some cool photos, then it works well. If you want to get deep into a particular TAG Heuer, then come to calibre11.com and if you want to chat watches...well, you know where to go, because you're already here!

Not necessarily: It's simply a measure of the number of 'like' clicks a photo has received. Those clicks might be people who would buy the watch, but they will also be people who like the account and click like on 'everything', they'll be people who like the photo because it's a good photo, they'll be people who like the watch, but would never buy one because it's too expensive, they'll be people who like the photo but wouldn't buy the watch because they don't need one, they'll be people who like the photo and want to have that photo appear in their own stream of photos so other people can see it.... etc etc

Analysis of social media stats is very confusing at the best of times, and it's very hard to tie any solid facts to any of it. Any company that uses social media stats to make high end financial decisions is taking very big risks indeed.

Interestingly enough, I'm a contrarian in this case - I tend to only "like" the more modern or vintage-inspired reeditions. Reason being is that generally I only hit "like" on IG for original photography - I tend not to "like" the reposts of vintage Heuers on the C11 IG account, mostly because I've likely already seen and liked the original 😉

I think, nowadays people tend to return to classics. Still, Carrera 2447D is my all times favorite. By the way, you can deduce from instagram statistics which of the models has become InstaFavorite. You know, Instagram has such a nice option for business profiles that helps in improving their strategy, by analyzing posts impact on audience. Also, if you want to promote a new model in a short period of time you can use LINK Instagram views and autolike services . This tool is extremely efficient when it comes to boosting popularity. Still, your models doesn't need any presentation, they are almost known for its high quality.

I must have exceedingly good taste with 2, 3 and 4 in my collection 😁.

i’d have never have guessed that the Silverstone would have been no. 1. Never seen one IRL.

completely agree. At best it shows the types of watches enthusiasts want. And a great list it is too.

But as for the wider ‘public’ who just buy a watch and leave it that won’t? I expect not as representative. The f1 might be a favourite gateway, but similarly not the fav of those who buy weight 😎

Bit of a necro-bump on this thread. But agree that TAG have a much better source than Instagram likes of what sells - actual sales data!

The Heuer Re-Edition takes home the bacon ::psy::

The Carrera Silver 160 & the Carrera Montreal are kinda expected, simply because they are great to begin with.

The Carrera Elegant Anthracite is a sure winner! 👍

Didn’t know the Monaco all black 3 register & the Monaco Hourglass are that popular 😲

Which Heuer Re-Edition are you referring to? The 3 reg Black Monaco? It has the most likes.

What I meant is, in general, those which got the most likes are Heuer Re-editions and only a few from other models 😉 The ones with the “Heuer” logo to be exact, eg. Carrera 160, Monza, Skipper, Carrera Montreal even the Monacos 👍
