Not sure how many of you have followed the skirmish between Facebook and the Australian government regarding proposed new media laws that will force the big online players to pay for sharing media content. Facebook blocked all sharing of Australian media a couple of weeks ago- and being the titans of media that we are, Calibre 11 got picked up in this- it's not possible to share Calibre 11 content via FB.

For me, the way that Facebook has gone about this is completely unprofessional- so I'm out. I've deleted the Calibre 11 Facebook page, and will focus on sharing through the Forum and the other social platforms (yes, I'm aware that Instagram is of course owned by FB).

Sorry if that impacts any dedicated Facebook users here.

No bother to me. Rarely see C11 on Facebook and when I do, it's usually stuff I've seen on the forum or Instagram already 馃榾

Yes, I think there are some who only follow Calibre 11- things on FB, but agree that it's a minority

It鈥檚 alright sir. I understand since we have different needs and I also understand sir DC鈥檚 sentiment/action. Is FB above and beyond countries, laws or policies? Unfortunately FB has been the mainstream platform for communication, user operability and convenience for millions. It has also decimated alot (i mean alot) of fora and I鈥檓 glad Calibre11 is still going strong thanks to sir DC, sir Hubert and all the contributors that make up this wonderful TAG Heuer community 馃憤

I prefer the forum to FB. The post were mostly refresher cards 馃榾

I find myself spending less and less time on FB, rarely checking in. It used to be a nice place but now seems full of negativity and bullies. This forum has been a great respite from all that. Thank you C11 and the people here.
I do spend time and effort on Instagram where I feel like I am able to control my feed somewhat. Plus there are only likes, if people don鈥檛 like it most just move on rather than taking time to rain on ones parade.

Pretty sure I haven't been on FB this year and I didn't even know Calibre11 had a FB page.

I didn鈥檛 know about FB but try to keep it to a minimum, car club, rugby supporters, C11 on the forum is enough for me.

Sounds like a good decision! I left Facebook years ago.

I binned FB about 3-4 years ago and have never looked back. Prior to that I hadn't used it for about 2 years.

I tried IG for a week, got hacked so binned that too.

I now don't 'do' social media of any type 馃榿

Seriously 馃榿 best to stay in the C11 forum then I suppose!

What I like about instagram is that I get to see so many more nice watch photos. Our community here is quite small but instagram is an endless ocean of watch beauty so I dont want to leave that 馃榾

I like Instagram as it is also a great resource when checking out a reference. If you want to get an idea of how a certain watch looks or looks on (wrist shots and watch details). It鈥檚 like a photo encyclopaedia.

I also use it to document and share my watch journey and help to maybe turn others on to watch they haven鈥檛 thought of. I hope I have helped push a few over to buy a 39mm Carrera or two.
