I don't think so. Is that a screenshot from Chrono24? I saw that one seller there has the watches listed, but I think they've jumped the gun and are listing stock they don't have to try and generate demand.

As recently as a few weeks ago, the position was that there was no confirmed date for the launch of the watch- might not be in 2018

Yeah was a chrono24 screenshot. The availability was listed as within a couple of weeks but your conclusion of a seller jumping the gun would seem more likely given the absence of any publicity

One seller wrote to me that C24 only allows for the sellers to chose something like 6-8 weeks as the longest delivery option, so a watch hard to get by (or not released) would be incorrectly listed as available within a month or two...

Is it unusual to show a watch at basel and then not release it that year? Did tag realise that it's gopping?

I think the key difference is that TAG Heuer didn't *officially* show the watch at Basel, i.e. it wasn't one of the Basel releases. That could be because it was much earlier in the development/ design process that the other watches, and so lead times would be longer.

I notice they've added some 'visible' hour markers.... a good move I think!

I can see the market for a vintage three hand watch, the black bays and IWC heritage show there's a market, but I have no idea why they would release a three hand Autavia over a vintage styled three hand carrera or even aquaracer (1000 re-edition anyone?)

These sell for a grand on eBay, there's definitely a market for this. I'd buy one of these and I don't even particularly like vintage!

As long as it was at least 41mm.

I think tag heuer 1000 and 2000 are definitely among the best looking dive watch out there .

Wouldnt mind if they produce it again as re-edition.

Only, i would prefer it to be mechanical instead of quartz.

"Hey guys we got a lot of social media attention for re-releasing the Autavia. Let's milk the name!"
