Autavia Calibre 5- after a couple of years, what do we think?

Yes I liked the red one the most of the bronze editions. There was one for sale recently on chrono24 from a private seller at a really good price, looked like the owner never wore it. As tempting as it was I left it as I feel safer buying through trusted dealers instead. The only thing with the bronze editions is you don't have the option to put it on a bracelet (I suppose you could but it would look a bit odd I guess).

Watchfinder selling a bronze Autavia, looks horrible.

Well, if the case patina is the issue, that'd be pretty easy to remedy at least.

The fact that the model is gross to begin with though, that's not something that can be fixed

Oh man bronze is so beautiful, you wear it and the fancy gold look turns into a dumpster look 👍🙄

Just noticed all the Calibre 5 Autavias are gone from the website. All that's left is the three that came out in Jan22

Yupp - I saw some isolated examples on sale with reputable online jewelers a couple of days ago, at minus 40% (ca. 2k on bracelet, IIRC)…

Guess this is it. Last exit Roermont, etc.

That said, I still think you could do much worse with 2k. It's just that it always felt like TH Mrktg had no clue what they were doing with this series.

Yup. And now we're back to having two 'Racing Chronographs' again... all that 'Autavia' means 'Aviation' story has been thrown out of the window again. I quite liked the Autavia three hander, but it didn't seem like a TAG Heuer and I don't think people who like proper Pilot's watches really gravitate to TAG Heuer either. I guess it was a shot at a different market, but I don't really think it was very well though out. Again, trying to gouge a Pilot watch from the Autavia name was pointless. Autavia fans were insulted by it, and people who didn't care about the name didn't care. So how did the name actually help sell the watch?

Just stumbled across this one in WUS - file under “What could have been”…

Apparently, this was the prototype for an Autavia 3-hander ca. 2018:
