Prices are going bananas all over the place, just look at Omega…£6000 for a standard plastic crystal Speedmaster is way too much IMO. I recently tried on the Speedmaster 57 in a boutique - gorgeous watch, but for £8000 they are having a laugh.

TH pricing will soon be ambitious beyond belief, particularly considering how awful the residuals are on most of their models. Let’s hope that ADs can still offer some deep discounts to compensate.

One observation - Tudor still look like remarkably good value, even with their prices having gone up steadily each year. I can see them mopping up a lot of business from people who’ve been priced out of other brands.

Yes - thanks Freddie. I now have to live with the potential headache of my girlfriend walking past an AD window, seeing a Monaco selling for a silly price and thinking I paid that much for an ugly square watch with a crummy Sellita movement :)

Thank goodness for Tudor, where would we be without them?

    Why was the CAW211A £6250 in 2009, when a Calibre 12 with a grey dial was £3800?

If the Aquaracer goes up 5% it will mean that the ceramic 300m models have increased almost 50% in the last 4-5 years? Seems reasonable

Unfair comparison? The c11 was the first true re-edition in ages, limited numbers and people going crazy for them kind of thing

Yeah, I get that... but it seems a hell of a premium over the standard model. Inflation calculator suggests that a £3800 watch in 2009 should now be £5300, so while £5800 is over that it's not super crazy. I guess the problem is wages haven't kept pace - mine haven't anyway.

Just as a matter of interest, here are the prices for the CAW211P over the last seven years...

    2015/16 - CHF5500
    2016/17 - CHF5500
    2017/18 - CHF5500
    2018/19 - CHF5700
    2019/20 - CHF5700

Don't have a price list for 2021, but currently on the TH website for CHF6800!

20% over the last two years seems fair.

I looked at these recently too - really fancied one too, until I saw the price tag. I can get a lightly used FOIS for half that (in fact I am tempted to do so!)

FOIS is my favourite Speedy. They seem to be getting harder and harder to find…a year ago there were loads of them for sale

I've seen a well-priced one for sale in the UK for about £4k which I'm tempted by. Mentally struggling slightly, however, with the fact that I sold the last one I had for £2350k. :whipped:

They are really nice. I prefer the sandwich dial of the black one but not the fauxtina. It’s a lot of shiny bling on the wrist though. The caseback is superb.

You’re apparently not the only one who made that observation…

And yeah. It’s getting ridiculous and fairly offputting. IWC, Omega, Zenith, TH… Quicker to list those that haven’t gone bananas in 2021/22 (Tudor, Longines/Union, Doxa come to mind).

So either Tudor eventually start to creep up as Rolex does, or they stay static and keep the competition honest. After all, if Tudor keeps their prices to a certain level there's only so far TAG can go over that and stay credible. But, surely sooner or later that Swiss greed will kick in at Tudor and they will start inflating their prices too, let's not forget that costs are going up so if they stay down they are cutting their profits - even if those profits are still substantial.

Ouch price increase in affect from today.

    Monaco Calibre 11 now £6,100 (£300 up)
Grey Man Carrera now £2,500 (£100 up).

The Monaco is now dangerously close RRP to the Speedy @ £6,800 almost too expensive for me to think about :(

Wow! EU (French) list prices are now 7050 EUR for the Cal. 11 and 6850 EUR for the H02 (also on a strap)…

How are they even going to „justify“ in stores that a Sellita-DD chrono is MORE expensive than one with “a latest generation manufacture integrated chrono caliber the development of which has required years of research” (enter your own marketing pitch here…)?

GBP payers also seem to get a slightly more clement exchange rate against the CHF than EUR buyers do, but I wouldn’t bet on that staying that way…

Anyway - good luck with that, Freddy :whistling:

I was in the Boutique today in Melbourne and the Caw211P is $10,650 now.
The New Carrera Porshe LE due out on the 5th October is $10,600.
Selita Vs Heuer 02 limited to 500 Pieces.
I know which is the one I'm choosing if I was buying.
