Now here’s a cool idea from @thewatchrover to mark 35 years of @TagHeuer in 2020. Aquaracer GMT with TAG Heuer red and green bezel, old style TAG Heuer logo and “35” in green on the bezel

Had not thought about tye 35 year anniversary this year! Watch brands tend to use every chance they get to make special editions etc, strange that Tag is not celebrating this

I thought about this a little while ago, but I guess TAG Heuer don't want to confuse things any more than they already are.. and 160years sounds more impressive than 35 years after all - it's a shame the years kind of coincide, maybe when it's 40 years of TAG and 165 years of Heuer?

I agree. It would further confuse and dilute their market image to celebrate/recognize both TAG Heuer's & Heuer's anniversaries, even if the years didn't coincide.

Having said that, TH could totally use that watch design to celebrate the Aquaracer's anniversary, whenever that is. LOL.

It's fifteen years of the Aquaracer this year...

Good to know. Well if they wait 5 years, TH can use the design as a 20th anniversary edition and highlight the "20" in red.

Yeah, but probably not... I mean more to the point it's 35 years of the F1 in 2021, are they going to celebrate that? It would be cool if they made some modern F1 watches using the resin watches as inspiration for colour schemes.

I got all excited when I saw the thread title..... only to find out it was just a fan's idea 🙁.

Cool idea though but not a watch for me.

Not a bad idea! I think they should celebrate 25 years of the F1. It's a significant milestone for a watch that arguably was one of their most successful in the TAG era.

I think they should do it even if it doesn't have the 35th anniversary connection. Very unique colorway and while it's maybe a bit Christmas-y I think it works well

Reminds me of the old Alitalia racing livery!

If you'd ask me about red & green livery, I'd probably point to this legendary JGTC Champion, Toyota TOMS Castrol Supra 😉

Yeah but the 131 though? Nuh-uh.

It has a special spot in my heart from the early days of Gran Turismo, but still - the Stratos.

Hell, it's not even the best use of the Castrol livery on a Toyota!:

and the "cheater" ST205 😜

I never bought a non-chronograph TAG Heuer / Heuer, but probably I’d make an exception with this one 👍

I agree: the Lancia Stratos from Sandro Munari is also my favourite Alitalia racing car! 🥰 👍 Good use of the TAG Heuer colours! 😁

Some pics from when I visited the Toyota City Showcase in Odaiba Tokyo a few years ago. Some of the old time drivers were there for a special exhibit outside that was happening that day. 😎
