That explains why the KITH ones are more expensive than the TAG ones. Because plastic is clearly more luxurious...
Well, according to the KITH preview page TAG Heuer Formula 1 | Kith Preview, which is live now, it says the US price is $1500 not $1350 as stated in the Wired article.

It said £1600 on the KITH website, but now it doesn't show any prices at all (the website has completely changed design somehow, when you follow Ben's link you come to a completely different page)... all three on the TH website here are £1350.

So £1550 for the UK...
And these are the pages that Ben's link went to before (from your new link)

It seems damned strange that TAG sell steel ones and the Kith ones are Arnite...

Maybe think it's hard to sell plastic watches for silly money?

Notice Kith won't accept returns, all sales final. So by the time you get it and realise it's tiny and plastic its too late...

But still, think yourself lucky you were privileged enough to be allowed to buy one.

No, the ones TAG are selling on the TAG website are steel, but still Kith branded

Agree. Or the Kith & Kin etching on the case
That engraving is thankfully only on the steel case ones with jubilee bracelet.

I'm actually toying with the idea of getting a Tokyo or Hawaii, just from a collectors' perspective. To pair with my original Shell x McLaren or Ukyo Katayama.

I also got the impression that buying on-line from KITH isn't first come first serve, sort of lottery basis. It seems they want to hype things up to make people go to their actual stores to have a better chance of getting one.

US TH website says $1500, as does the US KITH website. Maybe they're still not sure how to price these globally?

I still think it's scandalous that the logo is used for some fashion guru. Sorry folks..

I would like to get some companions for my collection, but that seems out of reach by both price and availability.

Box set.jpeg

According to the KITH website, the box set will have numbered pieces which correspond to the box number. E.g. Box set #12 will contain watches all numbered 12/25. It says only 25 box sets sold by KITH, but 75 total. Implying the other 50 are for TH boutiques and/or certain VIPs. If all 75 are individually numbered, it means any given model has whatever the amount is (i.e. 1350, 825, 350 or 250) plus 75 more.

Wonder which will be worth more in 10 years, an original Ukyo Katayama or a KITH Hawaii? 😗

Or maybe I'll just buy the KITH Hawaii T-shirt and call it a day...

Or spend the watch money on flights to Hawaii?
