Definitely a printed dial, as they all look the same, which is impossible with carbon fibre. Always liked that model and still think I should have bought the Black and Gold version, but you can’t own them all I guess.

I thought that too, but actually the dial was some sort of carbon. Or had some carbon in it. I think it was carbon fibres set in resin or something? Plus the case was DLC titanium IIRC. I think the lugs were carbon too....
The description was confusing from Tag. Owning one I can confirm case and lugs are DLC, bezel insert is carbon fibre, bezel is DLC, dial is hybrid print with “flakes” compressed into it or something odd like that. The cost I paid I wouldn’t expect full carbon, but agree it was a bit of an ask at RRP, although now a few years later it’s almost a bargain compared to now.

Looking cool and fashionable, as it certainly does, seem to be given precedence over legibility and the presence of actual carbon that the name and look of the watches suggest.

Indeed, while the dial proffers much eye-appeal it does not eschew practicality. The legibility of each variant is excellent.

A Blog to Watch versus Escapement.

When I tried on the gold one I can tell you the legibility was absolutely rubbish.

A Blog to Watch reckon the watch is red and blue because it is 'Red Bull' colours, which explains why Horner got one

That makes sense. I felt it should've been red and yellow, given it's a "Monza". Perhaps the RB partnership did play a part in the color choice in at least not making it look too Ferrari-ish.

An article from earlier today. "The 2016 TAG Heuer Monza is a rare instance of the remake surpassing the original work, and although the Monza line has since moved on to more complex, aggressive, and futuristic territory, this “best of both worlds” approach remains a beacon to watch brands aiming to create new classics out of beloved vintage models."
I genuinely think that the new Monza really irked the author which led to this tribute to the CR2080.
