But how likely is it that they will actually release the flyback chrono? The gmt sure but chrono, I guess we will just have to wait and see
From some (fairly reliable) sources I have heard the Flyback was mercy-killed. From others, I hear TAG still hopes to punish us with it at some point. But it seems that at least for now the Autavia is 3-hand only (or GMT, soon)
Do you know if they may have a familiar red and blue motif from back in the day? Having three lines with GMT’s can make decisions tough or confusing for buyers.
If they had wanted to breathe a little life into the heritage Autavia line, a re-edition to this GMT wouldn't have been hard to do. Sigh.
This is what I don’t understand about the folks at the helm of the watch industry. I would think they would sell a bunch of the Heritage Autavia’s in a GMT. They already had the gmt H02 movement and a watch like that would give the brand some added credibility in the enthusiast market and be a killer watch to boot.
Design similar to the current 3 hands Autavia. Blue dial. Tag Heuer branded. Ceramic bezel black/blue. COSC GMT Calibre 7.
But it must be as simple as that numbers dont add up for it, dont you think? As we discussed already the glassbox Carreras and the CBE Autavias dont sell very well. Im guessing it costs too much to make a new gmt, pay to market it etc compared to the profit they gain from it
COSC, that gets my attention even more @VirgileF To your point, Jim, I understand completely. I will be looking forward to what they come out with for both groups of purchasers - crazy WIS and regular customers
Yes good point, I am happy as long as they continue catering to both groups. I think we have been spoiled with some really good nerd releases during the last 3-4 years
