I have this watch, though obviously I haven't had it long enough to change the battery - it only came out in February or March this year. But I have a similar watch which is a WAZ1014. I've had that since December 2019 so getting on for two years and I haven't changed the battery. Also I have a lot of quartz TAGs and even older ones generally last 2-3 years so I would be very surprised if they only lasted 18months. And even if it did, your first battery change would be covered by the two year warranty.

Many thanks for your reply back and help! I didn't think under the terms and conditions s that the official Tag Heuer warranty actually covered the battery life within the 2 year guarantee tbh? Take care

Well I've decided guys im going to pull the trigger and get one for my son however I've noticed the date wheel is spot on 100% central, but the second hand movement is completely out missing the markers?! I must be used to the quality of both my Omega 300m or Tudor BB58? I know these 2 particular watches are alot more expensive than the entry level Formula 1 but surely at 拢1200.00 am I just nick picking?!

This is not uncommon, my wife's green dial Aquaracer does the same thing. This is a common thing and this article tells you why.

It is a bit annoying, Your Omega and BB58 can't 'hit the markers' though as the second hand 'sweeps'.

The article actually states that if the second hand does align perfectly it is a sure sign that it was built by machine, so (as usual) we pay more for 'hand built' only to achieve a less satisfactory result!

This is why I come on here now and again because of knowledgeable people like yourself that are always willing to help the likes of myself. Sorry what I meant about my 300m and BB58 is when I set the time and pull out the crowns the second hands stop on exactly the 12 'O'clock marker again sorry my mistake. But now that I've read your article you've kindly sent me I completely understand the mechanics of a the second hand process. (You learn something new everyday as the saying goes!) Cheers for that one pal.

I think that's down to you having the knack! 馃榿
And if your son moans about the second hand, just tell him 'what do you expect - it's hand made!' not your robot built Japanese rubbish!

Don't forget to send you son here when he has his watch.... so other people can indoctrinate him and convince him to buy a BB58. 馃槖

Haha. If he had his own money at 16 I wouldn't mind him having a BB58 pal. But when it's dad funding the Formula 1 that's about my limit tbh. Haha!!

You know that you don't have to post two messages in order to quote somebody, don't you?

Say what now? When you pull the crown out on your BB58 the seconds hand stops on the 12 marker?
