Great stuff all in line with modern F1 engineering. Just wished it wouldn’t be named Carrera.

It would be if they put feet on it, otherwise... how are you supposed to open the front lid?

 

The box looks to have a recessed bottom so it appears light on its feet and enables the lid to be opened.

 

The little button on top which release the door which is hinged at the bottom.

 

So far mostly impressed by the IWC Spitfire range, specifically the clean 326801 with a new in house movement and measuring just 39mm for €4500. The faux lume is a pitty but I guess they wanted to achieve the patinated mark XII look. Even has the white date wheel. These will sell like hotcakes.

 

But the picture clearly shows the box resting on the lid, so as it opens it will surely lift the box up and rub against what ever the box is standing on. Unless the box has feet at the front and not at the back, but even then it would need sufficient clearance for the lid to actually open.

Anyway, moving on... Richard Mille has lost his mind with the BonBon Collection!

I could not agree more. The first thing I thought of when seeing these was a sweet shop.

Awful and no doubt a few hundred k for the privilege.
