Ferrari gambled on its team orders thinking Vettel had the better pace than Leclerc. But Vettel wasn’t able to capitalize this chance with a couple of hard lock ups.. Although i know they don’t stand a chance with the pace and consistency of the two Silver Arrows. Ferrari even thought the slipstream + DRS at the 2nd pass of Vettel from Leclerc would bring them closer (again a disadvantage for Leclerc) Brilliant performance by Mercedes with a show off from a double pit change for Hamilton and Bottas, all blistering and clockwork like machinery. Wow!

I’ve been doing this for some years, often watch the start then straight to the last 10 laps unless I’ve heard/seen a report and it was extra dull. Much prefer a Sunday up at my local circuit watching club racing or a weekend away at the BTCC.

Four races, four 1-2 victories for the Silver Arrows!! It’s amazing!! ::rimshot::
This is a good way to start the season!! ;)

It was a nice and fair fight between Bottas and Hamilton, without team orders. I like this way: no orders while both drivers can fight for the Title (I don’t like what Ferrari did with Leclerc in the previous three races)

^ Yes, they are killing everybody else and will likely win the championship again. Arguably, Bottas has become Hamilton's most effective rival, so our esteemed Brit needs to be on the top of his game, if he wants to remain World Champion.

I thought Hamilton was taking the lead in the first few corners, and was nice to see close raving without crashing.
Unless there was a full blown safety car it was always going to be the race of whoever was in the lead after the first few turns.

    Great start for Mercedes.

Another tough-weekend unless you are a rusted-on Mercedes fan. Renault are far poorer than I'd hoped, and Ferrari just seem to be making very odd decisions. Meanwhile Bottas and Hamilton just raffle pole position and the race wins between them...

I’m obviuosly very happy with this start of the season: 5th victory 1-2 from 5 races :) I think this was never achieved in the F1 history before! These current Silver Arrows are so dominant as they were in the 30’s with Caracciola and in the 50’s with Fangio! ::love::

I’m sure Ferrari and Red Bull (Max) will be tougher competitors (and race winners) in other race tracks during the season, so this initial advantage will be very important to manage the fight for both Titles at the end of this very long season. Also interesting is the fight between team mates in Mercedes and Ferrari... because Max is in another league from Gasly

LECs season start has been phenomenal and BOT is very experienced so these are indeed the most enjoyable team rivalries. I did enjoy Haas a lot though this weekend. GAS still has a lot to learn in a new team and car. His weekend performance was very strong and I expect he will be a lot closer on VERs tail later on in the season. But VER is in a league of his own. Such a strong and measured performance so far. With the right car there’s no stopping him.

    RIP Niki Lauda.

He and James can continue the banter together again.

Going by practice will this years Monaco race be a procession and a yawn fest best watched on fast forward?
Watched the F2 quali, now this has the makings of a contest.

With LeClerc at the back of the pack due to some poor strategy (again) by Ferrari should provide some entertainment as he fights his way up through the narrow streets.

Rain is about the best we can hope for in terms of entertainment I think....along with a couple of contacts with the wall to be had no doubt.

That fight with Max, driving a Mercedes with the wrong tyres, reminded me Monaco 1992, with Senna keeping Mansell with better tyres behind!

And about the Constructor’s Title, another big step for the Silver Arrows to win the 6th consecutive Title! :)

Yesterday’s F2 race was good, Indy 500 recording to watch when she shifts her butt from in front the box, cooking programmes ! Not long now though.

I would have appreciated a new participant in 2021 (found on Formel1.de). But new engine regulations for 2021 did not arrive, so it will stay in the garage. In the consequence Seidl left Porsche for McLaren. And once again: the „Diesel experience“...

That livery looks so nice. The only thing that could make it look better would be a HEUER logo!
