2018 TAG Heuer Mechanical Modules for Connected E2 Modular 45mm

    Picture from the TAG Heuer “The Catalog” 2018-2019... I would love to also have the Calibre 5 module in addition to the Calibre 16! :)

    It's kind of cool how with these modules you can have Carrera Heuer 01/02 aesthetics on the cheap.
    With the Calibre 16 module the Connected is practically identical to the non-skeletonized Carrera Heuer 01 (but quite a bit cheaper) and with the Calibre 5 you have Carrera Heuer 01/02 aesthetics with a simple three hand watchface, which is not even offered otherwise.

    OOOH, this is a great way of looking at it actually, thanks!

    I do wish, like someone on here said before, there were more options like aquaracer for example - but with the same "aesthetic". (and, this is just a little wish I have as well, mechanical module with steel/metallic color bezel to match my connected watch).

    Also: I'm thinking of finally caving in and getting a mechanical module BUT:
    1. Calibre 5 is cheaper and significantly more readily available than calibre 16 (is the latter even available in the americas? even at a TH store?)
    2. Calibre 16, at first glance looks a bit more appealing to me with it's more complex looking watchface.

    So questions:
    - does calibre 5 end up looking TOO plain? it is a large watchface after all.
    - someone PLEASE convince me about why you prefer calibre 5 (or why it's a great option)! I really don't want to spend the extra$1000 on a calibre 16, LOL. My first thoughts were along the lines of that it offers a more "dressy" and simple option which is actually a nice counterpoint to the smartwatch which by nature is more involving and complex.

    I had both mechanical modules in my hands, and I like the Carrera Calibre 5... but I love the Carrera Calibre 16!! ::love::

    If I have to choose only one of them, my choice is -obviously- the Calibre 16. The TH Connected is also a Carrera, and for me a TH Carrera should be a chronograph.

    Anyway, once you have done the bigger effort to buy the Calibre 16 module, it’s not so hard then to save money to also buy the Calibre 5 ;)

    LOL fair enough. Honestly it's more about the availability than the savings. Does anyone know if the TH boutiques have the calibre 16 in the US?

    It’s on the US TH website, so the TH boutiques in US have to sell the Calibre 16 (ACBF2A80)

    In the website ( https://www.tagheuer.com/en-us/watches/tag-heuer-connected/accessories-and-straps ) they say the Calibre 16 is not available online, but for sure a TH boutique in US can order it for you

    Finally bought my mechanical module Calibre 16 today at the the Tag Heuer Boutique in Moscow and I am very happy now :)

    Was not able to get one in Germany!

    Yes, the Carrera Calibre 5 module is also very nice! I first bought the Cal.16, and recently the Cal.5, so I’m more than happy ;)... and I have to stop here, because the other mechanical module available (Carrera Heuer 02 Tourbillon) is out of my budget! :D

    hello, i have my Calibre 16 module + gold lugs + grey leather strap + black ceramic bracelet + black lugs + Black Ceramic Clasp Bracelet. I want to sell it total for 6000euro. Maybe someone is interested ? Its my personal set, that i want to sell and invest in other watch.

    Loving my Calibre 16 so far, just got it delivered the other day and I must it's exactly what I wanted this watch to look like when I bought it 2 years ago.

    ^ Moved these three last posts from the 2022 TAG Heuer Connected Discussions Thread as the Calibre 5 mechanical module is just for the 2017-2020 Connected Modular, and not for the 2022 model

    @Aquagraph , if that module is brand new (and for the Modular 45), then it’s a very good offer :thumbsup:, as retail price is around £1400, and there are very few of them left.

    There are two existing Calibre 5 modules: for the Modular 45mm and for the Modular 41mm. Rob, do you know which of them is for sale at Ernest Jones?

    Sorry Albert, I didn't really know where to put it...

    Definitely the 45mm, and it said £1000 reduced from £1400.
