It's this the first quartz Monaco?

I would have preferred the announcement to be a Connected Monaco.
    Pedigree is hurting.

I can't decide whether the new logo looks too modern on the retro-shape watch or whether the logo modernises the case?

Ticks a lot of boxes for me, I don't have a Monaco, I don't have a watch with a small seconds.... I kinda like the Monaco but not enough to pay thousands. On the other hand for another £700 I could probably get an automatic...

I Monacos*, I like quartz watches, but I wouldn't buy a quartz Monaco.

    * to my surprise. I didn't like the pictures online, until I caught a buddy wearing one and it was one of the most eye catching watches I've ever seen.

I think they also have automatic one for this tag heuer monaco if i am not mistaken. I kinda like it. I should have bought this one in automatic instead spending a fortune on calibre12 LS before.

I also prefer the Monaco in chronograph mode.

Agreed, 3 hander Monacos just don't do it for me. Each to their own though.

Needless to say due to its "quartz"ness in relative to the price being sold. This watch has received "hot" welcome by the WUS.

The comments under the ABTW article are pretty venomous.

    Nothing unusual.
Watch "nerds" take the opportunity to unleash their intellectual tirade on everything that has Tag Heuer on it.
Dig up any article on ABTW, Hondikee, or any other portal for that matter, and nothing seems to keep them happy.
Not a vintage reedition, not a Connected, nothing.

Yet, for some reason, the brand seems to be breaking sales records...

It is because it became cool to hate TAG Heuer in the 80s and early 90s when they were associated with stock brokers earning too much.

I would wager that the overwhelming majority of these bandwagon haters have no idea of the history of the company, its achievements or its current technical expertise and innovation.

Well, to build on your point, if you see who wears Rolexes and APs, at least in my neck of the woods, you wouldn't want to be associated with that crowd...

Well, quite the Royal Oak and any yellow (sic) gold Rolex would signify the same character.

I think top 3 performers in this rather "chaotic era" for watch company are not WUS favorite.

Is it Hublot, Tag Heuer and Richard Mille ?

    I could be wrong.
