Yes, you're right...3-reg Carreras!

Quartz 3-reg Carreras though. I'd rather light $2000 on fire than spend it on a quartz watch - at least the depreciation hit wouldn't be so bad!

Hmm, not sure about those. Many of the Grey dealers crack open Photoshop and make their own versions of watch and strap combinations that TAG Heuer doesn't offer...that's not to say that the straps don't fit, just that I think it's more about what the grey dealer thinks looks good....and sometimes they're right!!

Good catch! These were indeed from a grey dealer's website.

A saw the 43mm in the metal this past weekend. The difference in millimeters does make a difference. Will post some pictures a bit later.

Thanks. I'm interested to see the smaller version in the metal. I'm thinking they needed to slim the bezel down though because it looks a bit 'perimeter heavy' if see what I mean.

Here's a comparison with the old model.

That comparison shot is very telling. it's definitely the bezel size and font size on the bezel that is out of whack!

The bezel font size is certainly different to the 1887 Carrera, but seems to be the same as the 45mm model

I honestly was not expecting to like the black dial watch that much. I am holding out till I see the anthracite and titanium versions side by side to make up my mind. Between those two in my picture (old 1887 vs Heuer-01), I like the new model all the way.

I realise that the bezel is the same on all the Heuer-01s. My point was that they should have scaled it for the 43mm version and would definitely need to scale it if they ever put this movement in a 41mm case. The 43mm version looks to me to be dominated by the bezel and its font. Just my twopenneth 😀.

TAG Heuer's Facebook posting from today; I believe it's the first release on social media channels about the 43mm Heuer 01.
