New review from ABlogToWatch. There are a lot of great photos.

At Baselworld 2015, TAG Heuer quietly launched what we are looking at today, the TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 Reference CAW211P, and other than few truly very minor differences, it allows Heuer Monaco fans to get a taste of owning the original – at around half the price of what that 1,000-piece limited edition cost before selling out like hot cakes in 2009.

http://www.watchtime.com/wristwatch...on-in-the-2017-red-dot-product-design-awards/
Hublot is the only watch brand to be awarded the highest distinction in the Red Dot Award Product Design 2017, the Red Dot Best of the Best. However, several other watch brands were also honored in this year’s awards, which recognize design excellence in a variety of products.

In total, eleven watches were awarded the internationally recognized Red Dot Design Award for product design. Hublot received the the highest distinction with its Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold, the Red Dot Best of the Best. TAG Heuer and Maurice Lacroix were both able to win two Red Dot awards, while Armin Strom, Chronoswiss, Nomos, and Rado each received one award (see list below).

Manufacturers and designers from 54 countries entered a record number of more than 5,500 products in the Red Dot Award Product Design 2017. There were significantly more watches in 2017 than in previous years.

Three members form the Red Dot watch design jury: Rüdiger Bucher, International Editorial Director of Ebner Publishing, parent company of WatchTime;Gisbert L. Brunner, contributing writer to WatchTimeand its German sister magazine, Chronos; and watch designer Simon Husslein.

David reminded me that next year will be the 50th Anniversary of the Monaco. His logic dictates that TAG will release the black PVD Monaco. Sounds logical. Anything else anyone would like to see? Would a Heuer-02 calibre inside tickle your fancy?

The 50th anniversary will be in 2019. Definitely that edition would be on my wishlist, regardless of the movement. I only wonder if they will go "modern" (like the 50th anniversary Carrera), instead of retro (like what we've been speculating with the Dark Lord).

Yeah. My hope is that they don't mess with the design like they did with the Autavia. Put a modern movement in it sure, but don't mess with a classic design. Not for, what I consider, the MOST iconic piece in HEUER history. Still a lot of time between now and then. This will keep me company for a long while:

Will the Heuer02 movement fit in the 39mm case ?

My only problem if i purchased the steve mcqueen one now and next year they released the dark lord (or it's proximity) i'll be kicking myself hard as dark lord is my favorite monaco ever even more than steve mcqueen one.

Not sure. To be 100% clear, I have no idea what TAG Heuer is doing with the Monaco in 2018, let alone 2019. But if they asked the question, absolutely I'd say make it a PVD re-edition with a two-register Heuer-02!

This. The Monaco needs to be 2-register. The 3-register chronos look naff, IMO.

The "King of Cool" has inspired many owners of this watch. As 2021 is the 50th anniversary of the movie Le Mans, thought it would be fun to see just how many of us now own the McQueen CAW211P (or CAW211A or 1133B).

Starting off the list with the CAW211P owners I've spotted on this forum (in no particular order). Please add your name if you own one. 😁
1. @mnejmantowicz
2. @Hubert (also CAW211A)
3. @Calibre11 (also CAW211A)
4. @XSRider
5. @heuerholic (also CAW211A)
6. @VirgileF
7. @Snowydelrico
8. @kappa_md
9. @Pitfitter446
10. @Count.d
11. @whitecap
12. @Md2010
13. @Willy Fog
14. @ewand
15. @Squadrone Rosso
16. @MrJesseJay
17. @Whitewatersky
18. @ianmar2112 (also 1133B)
19. @backmarker99
20. @Mspeedster

Sorry, If I missed you. I'm sure there are many more "McQueen" owners out there. Stand up and be counted. ::psy::
