Moonrise at NJMP race track.

This watch works well for me at the track -- it is thin enough to fit comfortably under the fire suit and gloves, and I don't have to worry about impacts hurting the mechanism.

Unfortunately, the race didn't go well for us. We had multiple mechanical issues with the car, culminating with a blown head gasket during practice, so we were done for the weekend. Rather than just drive straight home, we detoured through Cape May, NJ to do a little sightseeing and then took the ferry across the bay to Lewes, DE. This is as we were arriving:

I'm on an AER (American Endurance Racing) race team, and we brought an 1987 Porsche 944. The most frustrating part is the engine was rebuilt last year and shouldn't have had any problems -- it was running very strong (for a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder, that is) until it started spewing coolant out the overflow tube. A leakdown test confirmed the #3 cylinder was shot. I suspect the thermostat died closed and caused the engine to overheat, warping the head. We won't know how bad it is until we have a chance to pull the head and investigate.

I also have a '99 Spec Boxster that I race with PCA Club Racing.
