My partner and I are at the coast of Maine for the weekend, enjoying some of the best weather ever. I ended up taking the F1 for the trip, great all around watch! He ended up wearing the Ebel Wave that I gifted him earlier this year. It kinda makes my F1 look like a toy 馃槻

Nice pair!
Ebel also has Formula 1 roots, worn by Niki Lauda and Alain Prost in the early-mid 80s.

1999 Link chronometer in rotation (ref. WT5110). The COSC-certified ETA 2892-A2 movement winds so smoothly - like butter!

I bought my McQueen because of the shape, style, colour and size/weight, if it ain鈥檛 broke, don鈥檛 fix it, but just because some have other opinions, ok. Viv鈥檈 Le difference. We know who鈥檚 right.

Technically I own the trademark to the title as I aptly named it, albeit with Rob thinking the same but hadn鈥檛 mentioned it. 馃榾

I would definitely consider a purchase of said French Edition Monaco, if the price was kept reasonable.
The McQueen was already a France edition by default. Its claim to fame is Le Mans after all! ::psy::

I am not familiar with Ebel before but it looks nice, proper awesome gift. But, for all of ours sake get him a proper TAG Heuer for Christmas 馃槑

Thank you! Ebel has some great history! I know they manufactured a lot of watches for Cartier in the 80s, and Cartier eventually ended up purchasing Ebel鈥檚 factory and tooling, which they still have today. Ebel also used so many cool movements over the years. They even made their own Quartz movements in house at one point. The one I got him ended up having a Ronda movement in it (good news for me since service and replacement is way more down to earth)

This is a sweet reference. I always wanted a blue dial. I haven鈥檛 owned a link just yet!

Do a little search on Ebel and you will be quite surprised! Nowadays they are still making high quality products, but a little generic, and they use a lot of Sellita movements. And you鈥檙e absolutely right! I鈥檓 going to be picking him up an SE/L soon.

Fair enough. 馃榾

It still needs a dark blue dial though.

Is that new? If so, congrats!
Nope, just babysitting my brother' watch whilst he is on holiday.
