The green Seamaster has been of interest, so I appreciate all the discussion and pictures above.

How did the green look in person? Seems to be a chameleon given how it can look so different with changes in lighting, angles, etc.

I would call it a dark forest green, much darker compared to the all green Carrera Sport that you've also been thinking about. I can see how it could look almost black in certain lighting, but it didn't look black under the store's bright lights. I really like the shade of green used, however if one is looking for a bright green, the Seamaster isn't it.

Found it, hiding in the shed, took it off whilst cleaning the lawn mower. Heat affecting my head.

No Monaco in my collection (yet!) but it is a grail! Beautiful collection, guys! This 2000 has seen some abuse over the past 20 years lol. I tried my hand at refinishing it, but I’ll definitely have to take another crack at it

Oh really? But no... I'm trying to scale down, not buy more!

These must be a different reference to mine, mine had a darker dial more like the Alpine Eagle, with tiny speckles of silver in it. These look more like my wife's which is 29mm I think

I hear you. I still like it a lot but it's not getting much wrist time. It won't be losing any value I expect so I might hold on to it for my son or daughter for when they're a little older.

Looks great, @Penhaligon. My knowledge of vintage pieces is quite limited. Any idea of the approximate year for this one?

Thanks. Brother.
Always an adventure for me trying to figure out vintage Heuers years of prod - I know the seller advertised it as "1980". I believe I'd placed it mid 70's once, based on the chronocentric site.

I think these are slightly later models but I could be wrong. There’s a fratello article on it, as it was the model that Bill Gates had, and gave away as a prize for guessing the price lol

Mid 70s is my estimation based on the serial range - serial batches then weren't fully sequential in terms of full production / wholesale, so exact years can't be told. But other models known to be produced in 1974-75 have similar ranges.
