Ha, well this one came scratched. Also this photo is bizarre. It's like I put it through a filter to bring out every tiny scratch!

I actually tried one of these in the weekend, wore great, a lot smaller than expected

Yeah I think the original size Black Bay is the right one. Just feels perfectly proportioned despite its on-paper dimensions.

We saw the silver Black Bay in Selfridges, complete with lovely brown tarnish stains - that weren't supposed to exist. Guy behind the counter told us that people like it, like the bronze they want it to change colour. I call BS on that!

Well, there is that... but then again the Porsche logo is quite small and hard to notice so I think I would take the chance.
One pays a premium for that Porsche logo compared to a standard Carrera Sport or even the 160th Anniversary Carrera Sport LEs. Not worth the difference to me, even if I might like the look. Plus 44mm is beyond my comfort zone size wise. But if I had an orange Porsche, or a black one with orange accents, this watch would be quite hard to resist.

True but I tend to judge the watch on its own merits regardless of the Porsche branding. If the exact same watch was available without the Porsche bezel then that would be perfect.

Then again I'm not Ayrton Senna, nor even a Senna fan, but I shamelessly wear a Senna F1.

I'm not judging the logo, it's about whether I'd seriously buy one given its price. Would you choose the orange racing over the blue 160th that you like given that the 160th is cheaper?

That's a very good question. There's not too much in the pricing given the 160th isn't coated... and when I was looking at the orange one when I spotted the Porsche logo on the bezel it was almost a 'surprise'. I mean I know it is a Porsche model, but the branding is so subtly done, it's not like a watch with a yellow dial and a prancing horse on the dial or something.

Plus I'm pretty sure if they brought out the 160th now it would be £200 more (so £5800) just because they could. The green one is £5550 so no way a limited edition like that would be £50 more.

Ultimately I think I would probably go with the blue 160th, but not because it's cheaper.
