Need? The heart wants what the heart wants 馃榿

No but given the pricepoint I am thinking it would be ideal to have as a "dont have to be too careful with it" kind of watch. For my budget the 58 is too expensive to not be a bit careful with
True, in that case the Aquascaphe is certainly a good option. Have a look at Yema as well, the Superman is really nice in person. They have a couple of compelling GMT choices as well

Hey TikiGuy, welcome to the forum. Like both your watches, is your 2000 a midsize cos it looks like more than 6mm difference between the two?

I believe so- it was a gift and I'd have opted for a larger size given the choice. I believe I measured it at approx 37-38 mm diameter awhile back, and it has a 20mm lug width. It looks like a toy next to the 43mm aquaracer.

Hoo, well 37mm was fullsize back in the day...

Whyyyy and how? I am so eager to get the Aquascaphe and the dimensions of it seems to be perfect, at least on paper

A good question! To be honest, I thought it was beautiful, the price point was perfect for me, and was pretty sure it was gonna work. But because the case in lug shape is pretty flat, on my rounded wrist it didn鈥檛 quite work. Of course, that鈥檚 an assessment that I regret every time I see a good picture of someone wearing one!

Good point. I'll research the old catalogs to see where this model fell in the lineup

What is that thing on the right?
It locks the bezel in place. This has been a part of the Superman design since the early '60s. Downside is you need to unscrew the crown to move the bezel again. Which you don't want to do underwater 馃榾

Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining!

Look at this beauty. From article on Monochrome

The new GMTs are tempting, since they supposedly have a bi-directional bezel (finally!). The two Superman GMTs I've owned were annoying with the unidirectional bezel + bezel lock.

It's a f-馃が-kin' pain in the ass is what it is. I like it as a design touch but I'm pretty sure it was originally paired with a free-spinning bezel rather than a ratcheting unidirectional bezel like all modern divers have. Makes my Superman 63 less useful for the fun everyday timing I do with other divers

I almost feel as cool as James Bond wearing this. Starting to miss the Carrera though, time to show it some good times in the weekend maybe
