D Dunlop61happy wearing my JH85, and yes I'm aware the date is wrong....forgot to set it
Mine are in similar condition. Admitedly I’ve had them months not years. But I’d hate to get scratches unnecessarily. If it happens it happens. But I try to avoid. I imagine most ‘proud owners’ are the same. I have some watches that I’d care less about scratching than others. But I wear them all and hope they remain as close to pristine as possible. I don’t personally subscribe to the ‘scratches add character’ ethos tbh. Maybe on a vintage watch with a real story behind it. But I’m a nobody who does not do anything particularly remarkable. So scratches are just a sign of ineptitude and carelessness 😜

Nice choice welcome to our little community.
Welcome Jay,
The first of many I hope.....
I like to look after my watches and an super paranoid about my pvd aquaracer as scratches would look terrible, but I look at my stainless aquaracer and the scratches and dents tell stories.
It's the watch I bought when I realised that a velcro strap didn't look great with a suit in my mid 20s, has got a chunk taken out of it from catching a door jamb running between meetings, scratches on the side from where I caught it on an engine I was trying to fix while road tripping somewhere in Europe, a bunch of damage from where I smashed it into a rock surfing next to the bunkers at capbreton.
Scratches are a sign of a watch that's been worn and enjoyed 😉
