My best friends wife has just told me she would like to buy her husband a watch for his 50th
Would love to hear you thoughts and recommendations thank you

Wow, pick a difficult question why don't you, budget is the first requirement and maybe type of user, sporty? funky? refined?

Lol about £1500 range and it's to just look good and wear for best he does like the chronograph

I would be a very happy man if i received this (picture attached) from my wife. With 1500£ war budget, Longines watch came to my mind easily. Its a good brand with history. Definetely worth collecting.

Also recently i am into Nomos watch. I think they are good watch that can suit both occasion of suit and leisure. Nomos is German company, i dont know if your friend are looking Swiss made in particular.

I'd be very happy with the new calibre 5 carrera with white dial. Or the older one in anthracite and grey leather strap.

£1500 is within Carrera re-issue territory if secondhand is acceptable!

Nomos are a notch above the set budget.

If you are a looking for a chronograph, I second @imagwai and go for Sinn.
Tag Heuer chronograph at this price range, you are looking at the Formula 1, less dressy than the Carrera.
