I've been wondering for a while, given the Calibre Heuer 01, and ETA derived watches along with quartz definitely have a long term place in the lineup, is the small size (particularly the cramped nature of the subdials) going to force the Calibre 36 (El Primero) out of the TAG Heuer collection?

Its an absolutely stunning movement and several very nice TAG Heuers have been powered by it including some remarkably uniquely designed Grand Carreras and its ability to add modular calendar, moon phase and other complications is well known, but is it just a bit too small and too expensive to keep being used as part of the main lineup?

Haven't heard anything official, but I expect we will see fewer Calibre 36s...and that may mean none. The Carrera Calibre 36 didn't sell as well as hoped, and given that most Calibre 36 models were in the $8-12k bracket, that seems at odds with the sub-$5k focus.

I'd love to see a 3-register 36/37mm heritage Carrera (or Autavia ...) using the El Primero...that combination would bring together the two "originals" from 1969.

There's the manual wind El Primero Prime variant of the movement too which would be a perfect substitute for the Lemania in those 37mm Carrera re-editions.

This also puts into question the continuity of the Calibre 36 Monacos. :(
