Or a super high end version of something designed in the 60s.

All the best watches of the 2000s were watches designed in the 60s. Basically. 🙄
Has TAG released a truly new watch line since 2000 under LVMH's ownership?

Think about it, when TAG took over Heuer they had the Formula 1, S/EL, 6000 and Kirium which were all new at the time. But ever since LVMH took over, I can't recall a single truly new product line being released. Everything has been either a next gen continuation, evolution, re-edition and/or tribute of something that's come before.

You would think these would be cheap as chips right? But no. And the people in Bicester told me that people always came in asking if they had the 'Golf' watch.... go figure!

Also possibly the Grand Carrera, which let's face it, is only a Carrera by name. And the same goes for the Autavia Pilot.... also the modular 'Carrera'. They do make new watches, but they give them old names, because 'the watch industry' only accepts new watches with old names.

Ah yes the Golf. A watch so boring to me I always forget about it.

I suppose the Connected also qualifies. But they call these Carreras as well.

Moreover, I was really thinking about non digital watches.

Since they reuse the same names and some of the historical design cues that go with them, I think of these as falling into the evolution category.

To be fair though, have other brands been releasing tons of new model lines? Rolex did the Sky Dweller in 2012 IIRC.... seems like most of Omega's models are established too. It's just the way the industry has gone, focusing on 'history' as a way to justify 'luxury' prices. Seems like we are so used to the whole 'back story' thing now that launching a new watch without one would actually seem a little odd.

Thinking about it, if they did launch a new product name it would if course 'have' to be Google friendly, so a made up word. In this regard Kirium would be perfect...

SLR, brand new automatic model....
Ok, that's a good one.👍

And the Alter Ego too, although that is quartz.
Alter Ego was released in 99, so credit TAG leadership prior to LVMH for that one.
