Unusual aquaracer?

While killing time in Rome airport yesterday I took the obligatory look at watches, nothing particularly inspiring, but then I noticed a rather unusual aquaracer, with 1000-style circular markers. I don't see this on the tag website, is it an old model, maybe from the old 300m range?

These aren't that unusual, you can still find them new anyway....

Any ideas what year they are from? I'm trying to decide if I prefer the current model or that one

It was in the 2014 catalogue... I don't have any newer catalogues to hand.

I've seen it before. I prefer the current aquaracer though.

My, slightly earlier 2000 Seires 2005 one, essentially very similar to the AR above, alongside a 2014 and 2015.

They still have these in some stores next to the 500m ones and the newer AR's. They don't look as dated in real life as they do in the pics.

AR is very very cool. But full disclosure, i sold mine already for pursuit other watch.

It is very likely, someday i will get another AR.

They don't look as dated in real life as they do in the pics.

I thought it looked retro, reminded me of a 1000. I'm not sold on the look of the 500m gmt, don't like the proportion of the bezel, need to see one in the metal

I suppose that's one way to put it. I briefly considered that model for a while but the prices weren't that far off from the newer ceramic ones, and I did read of those specific models suffering from the crown stripping issues as well.

Kind of makes me wonder how the current AR's will age.
