I did feel bad for Jim when I saw that price reduction. But not so bad that I didn't take advantage (sorry!). Just the luck of the draw really.

Still can't quite believe it - either some poor judgement by someone deciding what to put in the sale or maybe they needed sales before the end of the year. For sure, there were only a couple available at this price. The majority of owners likely paid the RRP or close to it.

Glad so many of us now own the watch of the year, though.

I really couldn't believe it was a genuine offer - glad you managed to snag it!

    Wow, what a painfull story.
I can understand you very well. I had similar trouble when I sold a watch to the USA on Ebay: Ebay took money, PayPal took money, DHL took money. The watch lay at customs in Cincinnati for 2 weeks! Then DHL USA sent the watch back to me. Swiss customs wanted to charge me duty for the watch, which DHL was not able to deliver correctly! I had to send it again! At this point I swore to myself to never sell a watch abroad again! ::rant:In the end all worked out well, I didn't have any extra expenses. But I had to make at least 10 phonecalls and write dozens of E-Mails with 7 or 8 different DHL staff members! ::facepalm2::

Thanks Jim, very gracious. One thing is for sure, I would never have bought one if I had to pay full price for it.

P.s. My last post makes it sound like I don't think it's worth the retail price. It is. Just that I personally can't get my head around dropping that much on a watch.

Yes, sorry for poor choice of words. What I should have said was that I really wanted the watch but this was realistically my only chance of owning one.

Sheesh, that really was nail-biting and stressful to read nevermind to be a part of.

Very happy that you both got what you should have done in the end, i.e. a watch for @Jim Dollares and a refund for @Aquagraph.

If anyone is looking to buy a Zenith at a dscount, be warned that the Zeniths will only be at Bicester Village for a few more months.

Reread the Swedish saga and this time laughed at some the mishaps? of the postal/courier service, I regularly sent parts from the garage back to Kia in South Korea using DHL and always without mishap, precovid of course, next time a brief (very) holiday over to collect sounds much better for the nerves. Still all’s well that ends well, and of we have two firm pen friends formed from this.

Yeah, if it wasn't for Covid then for sure that would have been a smarter idea or even if I'd just met Jim at the airport!
