Because of this link, although I have that same one in blue, I googled on chrono24 and came across 2 x 20 year old NOS (1 with actual pics), pricing was reasonable IMO. I assume the cheaper one is actually sourcing it from the one who's offering it with the actual pics.

Yeah, I guess the price is reasonable... I do wonder about these NOS watches, won't the oil have gone gooey?

 

No more so than a used watch that hasn't been serviced.

 

Yeah, I thought about them needing a service of €360 for sure, factoring that in the price for the second listing if it is genuine still seems OK-ish.

 

I guess on one hand the watch hasn't been going so the movement won't have 'wear', but then a watch that has been going the oil will have been going where it should.

I noticed that as well but considering inflation that would now amount to around 2100 GBP. Still they haven't put a huge margin on it holding it for 20 years in stock.

 

And in TAG Heuer prices that would be £3000+

 

Hmm, just noticed that in 1999 a quartz chronograph was £1325, an automatic chronograph was £1695... things have changed!

 

For sure not only watches. I remember Kia Rio costs equivalent to €10K in the Netherlands in 1999, now a Kia Rio starts at about 20k.

 

Yes, but a Kia Rio in 1999 was not worth buying even for Euro10, whereas now it is worth buying.

 

True in regards of quality but when looking at a BMW 3-series starting price now compared to 1999 is also higher. The only example I can think of is Nike Air Max having same price in 1999 as 2020.
