Well said. We are in the age of “hype” and the story of the “Timepiece Gentleman” is a great example of pushing the hype to far. They went from the next thing to the worst thing in a week. Rolex’s recent response does not help them by basically saying there’s nothing they can do about what’s going on and to blame the dealers. Talk like that is not good for their image. The response has been pretty negative to what they stated. We will see if the hype continues…

 

Thanks, I also wonder if the customers aren't getting fed up too. There's only so long people can wait before they start looking for an alternative and that can only be good for Omega

I quite like that Bell & Ross but you're right, I wouldn't drop that amount of money on one. I also don't go for watches with integrated bracelets that you can't easily change the strap on (I'd rather have a Tissot PRX for 1/8 the price if wanting a watch of this type), and I can't ever see myself owning a watch that has screws on the bezel.
